Allison B. Cormie, Ph.D. (Director)
Cormie is an experienced writer and editor whose careers include
research scientist, university professor, archaeologist and teacher. Her
experience with writing, publishing and presenting in the physical
sciences, statistics, humanities and legal fields has provided her with
the unique insight and writing ability necessary to present most subject
matters to a variety of audiences.
Cormie's degrees, fellowships and research are in both the physical
sciences and humanities. Her Ph.D. is in Geology from McMaster University
and she held a National Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC)
Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Waterloo with concentration
in isotope geochemistry, palaeoclimatology, palaeoecology and palaeodiet.
Her M.A. is in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University where she
focused on archaeometry, trace element geochemistry and tephrochronology.
She also has a B.A. in Anthropology and English and a Professional
Teaching Diploma from the University of Alberta.
